Appointments and Insurance Infertility Treatment Costs

We attempt to schedule all appointments within one to three weeks of the time you first contact us. The initial infertility consult can be scheduled at any time during your menstrual cycle; however, certain future evaluative blood tests must be scheduled on specific days.

The initial infertility consult appointment usually requires one hour and we ask that you bring copies of your, and your partner’s, relevant medical records. We accept most insurance plans, as listed below, and we do not take Medicaid or Medicare. If your plan is not listed, please contact us so that we may verify coverage. Ultimately, all infertility treatment costs are the responsibility of the patient.

The cost for infertility treatment by a reproductive specialist is often less expensive than generalist care. Infertility specialists order, and interpret, all necessary fertility tests for the female and male prior to beginning therapy. They undergo extensive advanced training enabling them to make effective treatment decisions.

We often see infertility patients who have been on Clomid for a year or more. Extensive scientific studies clearly demonstrate that Clomid is most likely to be effective during the first three ovulatory cycles of treatment. Extended treatment is expensive and unlikely to result in pregnancy, essentially it is a "waste of money". Fertility specialists "keep current" with the fertility scientific literature and attend continuing education seminars and professional meetings to enhance their knowledge leading to superior infertility patient care. Also, the scientific literature clearly demonstrates that pregnancy is more likely to result from "fertility specialist" treatment.
