The Center for Women’s Medicine Houston, TX fertility clinic laboratory is directed by Dr. Dmitri Dozortsev. He is one of very few physicians who went directly from medical school into the field of mammalian embryology.
His unique expertise encompasses more than 16 years in the field of human embryology and genetics in the United States, Russia, Belgium, and Brazil. Dr. Dozortsev is an accomplished innovator and recognized leader in assisted reproduction technologies, including IVF and associated procedures. His clinical experience encompasses thousands of micromanipulation procedures including ICSI, assisted hatching, PGD, and others.
His PGD technique has been included by ESHRE in the “Best PGD Practice Guidelines”. He has more than 40 publications and several issued and pending patents. His revolutionary research in analyzing human gametes prior to fertilization was featured in the journal “Nature”.
Dr. Dozortsev received his medical degree from Pavlov’s Medical School in St. Petersburg, Russia. He underwent his postgraduate training at the Department of Embryology, Institute of Experimental Medicine in St. Petersburg, Russia, and at the Reproductive Genetics Institute, at Illinois Masonic Medical Center in Chicago. Dr. Dozortsev received his Ph.D. with highest honors from the University of Gent in Belgium. He is board certified as a high complexity laboratory director in embryology and andrology by the American Board of Bioanalysis.
Dr. Dozortsev also performs PGD diagnosis on-site for advanced reproductive age, to screen certain genetic diseases, and for gender selection. Ours is the only laboratory in the region that can provide “same day” PGD results.
